 Eric Miracle – Training Director
Eric has many years of volleyball coaching experience including
1999-01: Thomas Worthington High School
2001-04: Cap City Volleyball Club
2004-06: Capital University
2006-08: University of Dallas
2008-10: Conquerors Volleyball Club
2009-Present: Richardson High School

While coach at Capital University, his team had a 56-15 record in 2 seasons, including the programs first NCAA tournament appearance and Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Championship. At Capital, Eric coached 2 AVCA All-Americans, the OAC Player-of-the-year (’05), OAC Freshman-of-the-Year (’04), 7 All-OAC selections, 2 Academic All-Americans, and 4 OAC All-Academic honorees.

While at The University of Dallas, Eric led the team to a 51-54. His teams broke program records for Win Percentage (.600 in 2006), and Match Win Streak (11 in 2006). His defenders were named to the AVCA “30-Dig Club” 25 times, while 3 athletes were ranked among the NCAA’s top 10 statistical leaders.

Eric has been coaching at Richardson High School since 2009 and is the current Varsity coach.

An Ohio native, Eric teaches Health to grades 9-12 at RHS. He is a graduate cum laude of The Ohio State University and is completing an MBA at The University of Dallas in Sport & Entertainment Management.


Michelle Knox - Head Coach 17U
Michelle grew up and played volleyball in Denver, Colorado. Her volleyball career began at Front Range Volleyball club. Michelle attended Colorado State University on full athletic scholarship and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. During her stay at CSU, she helped lead her team to four Sweet 16 NCAA appearances, two MW Conference Championships and made Mountain West All-Conference team her senior year. After college, she went on to play professional volleyball in Salzburg, Austria and continued playing two more years in Spain. She is currently employed by a healthcare staffing company in Dallas. Michelle has coached club volleyball for 4 years. This is her second year with SLAM Volleyball

Tiffany Jones - Assistant Coach 17U
Tiffany has participated in many sports including volleyball, gymnastics, basketball, select softball, cheerleading, soccer and track. She played volleyball her entire high school career but chose to play a different sport in college. While a volleyball player for her high school team, she played both outside hitter and defensive specialist. She also acted as a youth camp coach for Start Caring Wellness, Inc. where she educated young people about the importance of a healthy diet and active life style. With a passion for sports, she hopes to teach young girls to be competitive athletes and team players, two lessons that they can carry with them far in life. Tiffany graduated for the University of North Texas with her Masters of Arts in Communication Studies and currently teaches at two college campus in the DFW area. This is her third year of coaching club volleyball and her second year with SLAM Volleyball
Lana Odom - Head Coach 16U
Lana has been playing volleyball for over ten years. She started her volleyball career at Three Rivers High School as a middle blocker then went on to play at Cisco Junior College as a starting middle blocker. She finished her college volleyball career at the University of Texas at Dallas as a starting middle blocker. After college she played USAV adult volleyball and still plays as a right side/middle.
Lana is also an avid beach volleyball player. She has played in many US Open tournaments traveling around the United States to compete, winning the US Open AA division at Huntington beach in 2007. In 2010 she competed in the US Open at Manhattan Beach in California where she was sponsored by Powered zero!
Lana started her club coaching career in 2003. She has coached ages 12 to 18. This is her third year to coach for SLAM. In addition to coaching club volleyball, she coached the junior varsity team at Trinity Christian Academy.

Deanna Thele - Assistant Coach 16U
Deanna Thele has been playing competitive volleyball for the past 16 years. In Middle School and the first two years in High School, Deanna’s played the middle position, winning MVP in many tournaments. The last two years in High School, Deanna transitioned to be an Outside Hitter. After High School, Deanna played for Grayson County College as a defensive specialist. Deanna has continued to play competitive Volleyball in numerous indoor and sand leagues over the past 10 years. For the past 8 years, Deanna has refereed in the Whitesboro Parks and Recreation Department Volleyball Leagues for girls in the 3rd-6th grades. She has helped train many girls one on one with technical skills from passing to jump serving. Deanna also helped with volleyball camps in the DFW Area during the past 3 years.This is Deanna’s third year to coach for SLAM. Deanna looks forward to bringing her knowledge of the game and helping young athletes grow on and off the volleyball court.
Cathy Samford - Head Coach 15U
Cathy Samford has been coaching club for 10 years in the USAV 12's-17's age group, serving this year as the head coach of the Slam 15U team. In addition to coaching club volleyball, Cathy coached Varsity volleyball for three years. As head Varsity coach, she was very involved with all of the school’s volleyball teams, as she assisted with running practices for the school’s two middle school teams, while also serving as the head coach for the JV team. She was honored with "Coach of the Year" for her district in 2010 and 2011.

A four-year varsity player at McKinney High School (TX), Cathy was a three-time 1st Team All-District honoree in her sophomore, junior and senior years, playing as a middle blocker. While in high school, she also played club volleyball for three years at Texas Assault and Skyline Juniors. After high school, she went on to play collegiately at the NCAA level for the University of South Carolina – Aiken, playing both middle blocker and outside hitter. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.

She has been playing and/or coaching volleyball for 16 years, and is still an active participant every spring and summer, playing in sand volleyball tournaments. As a coach, she enjoys working with players from all age levels, and places her emphasis on proper technique training. She enjoys watching their development with the satisfaction of knowing she has put them on the right track toward reaching their full potential.


Maren Cain - Assistant Coach 15U 
Maren has been playing volleyball for 11 years. In addition to playing club volleyball she was the captian and setter of her High School team. After high school she coached both competitive and recreational teams. She has coached camps and clinics at PSA and Dallas Force for the past two years. Maren is currently pursuing a degree in accounting and plans to graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas with a masters in accounting.

Hayley Summers – Head Coach 15U Hayley
Hayley attended Hebron High School where she played 4 years. She received multiple district honors her junior and senior year as well as leading her team as captain. Hayley went on to play at Texas Woman’s University where she graduated with a degree in Kinesiology Exercise Science. She is currently studying for her Masters in Coaching. Hayley’s club experience includes head coaching with The Royal Tigers and Texas Titans.

Kelsey Morrison –  Assistant Coach 15U Hayley
Kelsey played volleyball at Newman Smith High School where she received many honors including Academic All-State, First Team All-District and Honorable Mention for district 9-4A. She made the top 50 players list for DFW 4A schools where she was recognized for #1 in digs, #1 in digs per game, #29 in kills and #19 in kills per game. She played 3 years of club volleyball and has trained under former college coach, Ruth Nelson. She is currently a libero at University of Texas at Dallas.

Ashley Elliston – 13U Head Coach
Ashley played 5-A high school volleyball at Pflugerville, where she received many honors including team leadership awards, the Gatorade Will to Win Athletic Award, all-district team and varsity team captain. She then received a scholarship to play volleyball at Tyler Junior College. After TJC, she attended the University of North Texas where she earned a BA in Sociology and a BS in Rehabilitation Studies. Currently, Ashley is a 2nd grade teacher in Richardson. This is Ashley's fifth year to coach club volleyball in the Dallas area. She is coming from Texas Titans where she coached the 15U national team. 

Shelby Ellis – Assistant Coach 13U
Shelby Ellis has been playing volleyball for ten years. She played several years of club ball and played at Richardson High School where she received many team leadership awards as well as First Team All-District for district 9-5A. Shelby is currently on the volleyball team at Brookhaven College Farmers Branch, TX.
